The College employs a full-time, qualified Guidance Counsellor to provide independent and confidential counselling to students, and also parents.

Students may be referred to the Guidance Counsellor by staff, or may make their own appointments.

A range of outside guidance, health and support agencies work with the College to look after the emotional, health and safety needs of our students.

I am Helen Bissett and I have been a Guidance Counsellor for 21 years.  I have worked in a variety of schools, mostly in the Bay of Plenty.   Before I became a counsellor I trained as a teacher and spent 7 years teaching before a stint overseas.   
I hold a Diploma in teaching, a Batchelor of Arts and a Masters in Counselling.
