Please Note:

1) Term 4 is a short term for Year 11, 12,13 students.  Their classes finish around the 4th of November for examination/ study leave.  An end of year program with trips and activities is run for international students who are not doing examinations and finishes around the 26th of November.    

2) We accept International Students for short term study.  The tuition fee is $375 per week and other fees such as administration fees and homestay placement fee apply.

Homestay Placement Fee-$200

Homestay Fee $270 per week

This fee includes your own bedroom, study area, 3 meals every day, and pastoral care

Transport (on request)

Auckland Airport to/from Homestay by shuttle bus $175 one way $350 return (subject to change) 

Unicare Travel and Health Insurance (on request) approximately $300 for two terms, $580 for 4 terms.

Note: This money is held in a personal contingency fund at school for the student, and is used by the student to cover school expenses that arise during their stay.

Covers such things as: NZQA fee, second-hand school uniform, school stationery, school trips and camps, sports team registration and travel costs, and musical lessons.

Any money remaining in the student’s personal account will be refunded when the student completes schooling at Tauhara College.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

Additional Fees where applicable

Subject fees for workbooks, field trips, and subject materials: each costs $0-$250. Lists of subject fees can be downloaded from our website.
Examination fees for external certificates e.g. NCEA Levels 1, 2 or 3 (cost is NZ$383.30 at each level). International students do not have to sit NCEA unless they want to gain New Zealand qualifications and/or continue their study in NZ tertiary institutions. 
Stationery and subject materials for use in school (e.g: exercise books $10-60, graphics calculator $100)
Field Trips and activities. The costs vary according to expenses/destination.  Some examples are –Year 11 Home Economics $175, Year 12 Biology trip $70, Year 13 Outdoor Education $160, International Students End of Year Programme $0-400, International Students’ Ski trip $100.
Sports Team Fees (e.g. Rugby team $75, Ski team $300+)
School uniform (NZ $60-$250). There are some second-hand uniforms available.
